Tires

Tires should be taken to the Floyd Transfer Station. There is a charge for taking them. They cannot be put in the trash or Green Box Convenience Centers. Cost is $1 per standard tire and $10 for large tires. They are sent to a processor for shredding. Shredded tires are used for playground paving, backfills etc. The vulcanized rubber of tires never breaks down so they should not be put in the landfill.
