Pill Bottles
Clean empty plastic pill bottles can be shipped to Matthew 25 Ministries for inclusion in shipments of medical supplies to developing countries. SustainFloyd also accepts clean empty pill bottles at its monthly recycling events. Pill bottles that do not meet the preparation requirements can be recycled according to the plastic number listed on the bottle and lid.
Preparation
Guidelines for shipment to Matthew 25 Ministries or monthly SustainFloyd events:
- Bottles must have an all-plastic lid.
- All labels must be removed, leaving no glue or residue.
- All bottles and lids should be washed in very hot water and dish soap, rinsed, and dried thoroughly.
- Caps should be placed back onto clean, dried bottles.
- Bottles should be sorted by color and type.
- Clean, recapped bottles should be placed into large resealable bags marked “Clean Bottles.” These will be included in shipments of medical supplies.
