Paper

Paper can be recycled at the Floyd County Transfer Station, some Greenbox Recycling Convenience Centers, and at Food Lion’s mixed paper recycling bin. Floyd County requires paper to be sorted for recycling at the greenbox locations and Transfer Station. Food Lion accepts unsorted mixed paper, including white paper, colored paper, printer and copy paper, junk mail, magazines, envelopes, file cards, paper bags, shoe boxes, cereal boxes, and books, including paperbacks, textbooks, hardbacks and telephone books.

Preparation

Paper needs to be clean and dry. Floyd County recycling locations require paper to be sorted by type: newspaper, white paper (printer paper, junk mail), glossy paper (magazines, catalogs, post cards, flyers). Food Lion accepts unsorted mixed paper. Plastic windows in envelopes are acceptable.
