New River Creative Reuse Center
New River Creative Reuse Center accepts post-consumer household items and school supplies, in addition to business and industrial overruns, castoffs, and surplus (see list below). Drop off donations at the front desk of Wonder Universe in Christiansburg during their open hours. For large quantities more than two bags or boxes, or large items, please make an appointment with the reuse center. An appointment is needed to pick up supplies.

We are located Inside the New River Valley Mall in Christiansburg, VA. Drive around to the back entrance of the mall. You will see our sign and signs for New River Community College near this entrance. Please check our hours at the link above. Drop-offs only accepted during open hours.

- Beads, buttons, and googly eyes
- Fabric, felt, ribbon
- Craft sticks and glue
- Paint, paint brushes, canvases (including used)
- Stickers (including the freebies you get in the mail)
School and Office Supplies
- Pens, pencils, and crayons,

- Paper clips and binder clips
- Folders
- NO BINDERS
- NO SPIRAL NOTEBOOKS
Containers
- Oatmeal and coffee containers with lids.
- Clear plastic containers with lids, such as peanut butter jars and salad containers (clean and dry).
- Ice cream “party buckets” with a handle and lid
- Glass baby food jars, glass yogurt jars and other similar small glass jars.
- NO CARDBOARD MIXED NUTS OR RAISIN CONTAINERS.
- NO OTHER PLASTIC CONTAINERS (HUMMUS, YOGURT, COOL WHIP, ETC)
- NO MILK CARTONS, MILK JUGS, TISSUE BOXES
Household Castoffs
- Cardboard tubes, including paper towel, wrapping paper and mailing cardboard tubes (NOTE: we are FULLY STOCKED with toilet paper and paper towel tubes so are NOT ACCEPTING AT THIS TIME)
- Egg cartons
- Spools (NOT ACCEPTING 3-D printing filament spools at this time)
- Shelf/laminate (Contact) paper
- CDs and CD cases
- Rubber bands and twist ties
- Bottle caps (plastic and metal), juice can lids, soda can pull tabs
- Corks
- Chopsticks (unused)
- Pie pans and catering trays (large, flat trays, not small deli containers)
- Old computer keyboards and phones (used for pretend play)
- Altoids and similar small tins, film canisters
- Tennis balls and tennis ball containers (with lids)

- Party supplies: e.g., streamers, balloons, plastic tablecloths, decorations
- Small plastic animal toys and figurines (less than about 5″)
- Game pieces, game boards (donate complete games elsewhere)
Special
- Prescription pill bottles ONLY if they are cleaned as follows: Remove all labels, leaving no glue or residue. Wash in hot water with dish soap, rinse and dry thoroughly. Replace caps and place in clear resealable bags labeled as “Clean Bottles.” Any bottles not used for local projects will be sent to Matthew 25 Ministries for inclusion in medical shipments to developing countries.
