Footwear
Gently worn footwear in good condition, including shoes, boots, sandals, and sneakers, can be donated to Angels in the Attic in Floyd, Goodwill in Christiansburg, or other secondhand or consignment shops. Shoes in any condition can be shipped to the Zappos for Good program. Sneakers and other athletic footwear in fair or good condition can be sent to the Got Sneakers program or brought to SustainFloyd Reuse/Recycle events.
Preparation
Items donated to secondhand shops must be clean and in good condition.
Zappos for Good: Pack clean shoes in any condition in a box or boxes, up to a maximum of 50 lbs. each. Print a shipping label from the Zappos website and take to an UPS location. Shipping is free. Please print as many unique labels as you have boxes. Each label will auto-set to 2 lbs. and will be updated once weighed by UPS.
Got Sneakers Program: sneakers must be clean and in pairs, tied together. They can be shipped directly to the Got Sneakers program, or brought to the SustainFloyd Monthly Reuse/Recycle Events.

Additional Information
Zappos for Good: Shoes and sneakers in any condition can be recycled through Zappos For Good’s Native Shoes Remix Project. The project will sort the footwear and donate usable items for reuse, keeping other items for their recycling project. Shoes in almost new condition will go to the Soles4Souls program which helps people in developing countries set up businesses.
Got Sneakers: the Got Sneakers program will re-home the better shoes and send others to be broken down into materials that can be used as components of new sneakers made with recycled product. You can sign up for your own Got Sneakers account. They pay a small dividend to individuals or nonprofit fundraisers for shoes in good condition.
