Art and Craft Supplies
Clean out your craft closet and donate your unused and leftover supplies to local organizations that can give them a second life! From yarn and fabric to paint and paper, nothing has to go to waste and can benefit other people. New River Valley Creative Reuse can help get reusable art and craft supplies to teachers. They take a wide variety of materials. The Book House in Floyd also has a small creative reuse section. Project Linus accepts donations of fabric, yarn, and batting.

New River Creative Reuse Center uses the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) to provide FREE resources to local teachers and nonprofit organizations. Located in a storage area of Wonder Universe open only by appointment. See a list of items they accept.
Project Linus is a national organization with a local group in the NRV that accepts donations of fabric, yarn, and batting to create warm cozy blankets for children in need. It is a volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission (mission statement from the Project Linus NRV website):
FIRST, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer.
SECOND, it is our mission to provide rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
The Book House is Floyd’s local used book store. They have a small creative reuse section in the store and accept donations of art and craft supplies for resale.
